TAVR may be performed in low risk patients as part of a clinical trial.
*Anatomic criteria (eg: low coronaries, bicuspid valve) or other patient-specific factors may make SAVR more appropriate for some patients compared to TAVR.
**Transfemoral access is the preferred access route and is used in >90% of cases. Alternative access including aortic, apical, subclavian, carotid, or caval should be chosen on a case by case basis.
