The Need
Peer-based learning resources for cardiothoracic surgery training; for residents, by residents.
The Thoracic Surgery Resident Association (TSRA) was established in 1997 under the guidance of the Thoracic Surgery Directors Association with the goal of representing residents in cardiothoracic surgery training. Since inception, the vision and mission of the organization have expanded to meet the evolving needs of our trainee members by providing peer-based resources and support for cardiothoracic surgical trainees. These resources are aimed at facilitating resident success throughout training and allowing them to launch successful careers.
The TSRA has produced several resident-created resources for cardiothoracic surgical training over the years. With 3 current published textbooks, an extensive podcast series, a growing literature review, webinars, and a 600+ question bank, TSRA resources have provided ample opportunities for learning over a wide range of platforms. Until now, these resources were isolated and difficult to search and cross-reference. The design of this new TSRA integrated WebApp brings the power of these resources to trainee fingertips in one central location.
